This weekend was our ward campout and Eli was initiated as a real Hawaiian local. During lunch on Saturday I was surprised to hear a group of people cheering for Eli on the other side of our camp. When I went over to find out what was going on I saw Brother Comisareo, a member of the bishopric, feeding Eli raw Opihi. Opihi is like a clam or Oyster. They are slimming and still moving when you eat them.(see picture) Brother Comisareo collected a bunch off of the rocks in the water while we were camping. Eli walked up to him while he was eating them and was courious about what he was doing. After Bro C. showed Eli what he was eating Eli asked if he could have one. Eli really liked them and had about 4 or 5. Brother Comisareo said he was a real local now. After Eli ate them a few people followed including Lance, but not myself no thanks!Lance also caught his first Hawaiian fish and we all had a great time. The two things I normaly don't like about camping, sleeping on hard ground and being cold at night, were not a problem here. The sand was nice and soft and it was so warm we all slept on top of our sleeping bags. Yep, Hawaii seams to suit me I love being warm. We hope you are all having as much fun as us. Good luck with starting up school again and we hope London is treating Cole and Shawn well.

Wow..too cool. That takes the ole Ward barbaque to a whole new level. I think I'll stick with potatoe salad as adventurous as I want to get. Love you. Mom
Laughing. That's my style of camping TOO! Well, except for the menu. I do prefer smores, myself.
