Thanks SEW Much Mom!

I never much cared for sewing. So I wasn't exactly tickled-pink when Mom gave me a sewing machine, for college graduation. I was grateful... but that's about
it. Laughing. I was wrong. I LOVE my sewing machine, now! Thanks Mom! I don't sew tricky bits, or perfectly... and as you see here, I haven't quite had the nerve to attempt a sleeve, but hey - I'm considering it now! Here are a couple of my sewing escapades:

Lil' Indian Princess: Made from an old discarded sweater and a broken necklace. I sewed the moccasins using crafting felt and this pattern.

Party streamers: Just fold pretty paper in half, and cut a triangle. Leave the folded edge as the triangle's base - then sew each triangle to a rather long bit of lovely string.

Frog Bean Bags: I sewed these little frog bean-bags for Kiss-The-Frog: a 'princess-twist' on an ol' classic party game - Hot Potato. I just used bits of felt, buttons and odd fabric remnants in my craft box.

The flaw: Kiss-The-Frog has one real issue - the little girls didn't want to pass the frog along. The winner is supposed to kiss the frog, and keep him (I made one for everyone, so we played until everyone won), but one very sweet friend kept kissing each frog, every time it came to her, in hopes, I suppose, of a Charming Prince.

Princess Dress: One in pink, (yep... you guessed it) One in blue. Here's a full shot of the pink party dress. The pattern was super easy, and in just a night or two we had a couple dresses fit for a princess.

Little Red Riding Hood: For Halloween, I dressed as a very full wolf - in Granny's nightgown and Gisela went as Little Red Riding Hood. I had the red felt from an earlier project, and a friend gave me this prom dress that I used to line the hood. Gisela still wears the cape to church every now and again.
